Guangzhou, China, November 21, 2013
The
theme of the conference is Green Manufacturing – the Future of Steel and
Automotive. Invited speakers include some famed experts from the Chinese
government, steel producers, automotive manufacturers and research institutes. A
focus of the conference is to discuss how the steel industry can support the automotive industry to address the environmental
challenges by promoting green manufacturing. Executive level officials from
World Steel Association, CISA and AC-CCPIT will preside over the event and
deliver keynote speeches. To help the participants have a close look at the
most up to date development of the automotive industry, a visit to the
Guangzhou Auto Show will be organized on 22 November.
In the context of a sustainable world and
increasing environmental pressure from the government, green manufacturing has
become a prerequisite for all industrial sectors to achieve sustainable
development. Steel and automotive sectors are playing a critical role to
support the sustainability of the entire society. Regulations on environmental
protection are getting increasingly stringent to the two sectors. Facilitating
collaboration between the two sectors is becoming an important item in the
agenda of relevant government agencies, market players and research
organizations.
To promote Green Manufacturing and enhance
collaboration between the two sectors, the World Steel Association has decided
to hold a conference in Sheraton Guangzhou Hotel on 21 November 2013 in Guangzhou, China.
The conference will be co-organized by China Iron and Steel Association (CISA)
and the Automotive Council of China Council For The Promotion Of International
Trade (AC-CCPIT). The conference will be followed by the 11th China
(Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition (Guangzhou Auto Show) which is
one of the most famous auto shows in China.
